When choosing as new door most people go for the modern multipoint locking mechanism great security and low maintenance however the mechanism should be oiled yearly to keep it running smoothly if you look down the edge of the door there is usually a picture of a oil can demonstrating where to spray lubricant but if your not sure just call for free advice we will be happy to help prevention is always better than cure!
The euro cylinder is the most popular lock and found all new builds and more than half of older properties usually on upvc doors but not all the cylinders are the same security the highest security is the 3 star cylinder with are anti pick anti drill snap safe they come all sizes and easily fitted so your thinking of upgrading to 3 star locks.
When you’re insurance company asks if your locks are BS3621 most people don’t have a clue and I get a lot of phone calls asking me how to tell so the easiest way is to look on the faceplate and lock for the British standard kite mark it looks like a heart if you can’t see on then your lock is probably not insurance approved so not insured with most companies so be careful!
